MASTER CHEIF
Joshi Anandesha
a mentor of stillness, wisdom, and transformation, was renowned for his profound insights into the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and ancient plant-based healing wisdom.
Born in Brighton, he rooted his soul in the Himalayas. After completing his studies at SOAS, University of London, he journeyed east to Dharamshala, where he studied deeply with Nyingma masters and refined his Tibetan. His quest transcended academia, pointing directly to the nature of mind, and he developed unique spiritual perspectives on rituals such as incense offerings. His wisdom and energy attracted seekers.
In 1972, he was invited to guide the practice of the community at Sanctum Tathaa in Upper Mustang, Nepal. Recognized for his extraordinary realization and personal presence, the monastery specially honored him as 'Monastery Chief' in 1978. He was not a scholar, but a master who guided his disciples toward inner awakening through direct experience—his life a living testament to wisdom and compassion.
